CityArts mission is to be an activity center for the arts, providing education, information, and opportunities to the citizens, youth and special populations of the community.

Payment and Registration:

  • Register at CityArts in person, mail in the registration form with payment, or phone in with Visa, MasterCard.
  • Checks should be made out to CityArts.
  • Pre-registration is required the Thursday before class start date.

Registration confirmation:

  • Keep a record of the date and time of the class in which you are enrolled.
  • Notification will be given only if a class has been filled or cancelled.
  • Classes are on a first come first served basis.
  • CityArts will not hold registration without payment.

Refund Request will be granted strictly following City Policy:

  • Prior to the Second Class of the session = 80% refund.
  • Prior to the Third Class = 50% refund.
  • After the Third Class of the session = NO refund.
  • If a class is cancelled by CityArts, a FULL refund will be issued.
  • Please allow 4-6 weeks to receive a refund.

ADULT CLASSES

CityArts programming offers an extenseive range of art classes and a variety of skill levels for adults in many mediums. All programming is geared towards making the arts accessible to everyone. There is a variety of day and evening classes, which will stimulate your imaginations and creativity. Adult classes for ages 16 and up, unless listed otherwise.

College Credits
Ask your college & university Art Departments about earning credits by taking courses at CityArts. We have agreements with most area schools to offer college credits for classes at CityArts in the areas of Fiber Arts, Glassblowing, and Silversmithing. Talk first to your school, then call or come see us at CityArts.

ADULT FIBER

Fiber Collage & Mono Printing
Explore different techniques by printing (such as frottage printing) on a variety of textiles, then combining collage methods and developing a small piece of wall art. Age 13+

This beginner class lets you learn the ins and outs of Windows MovieMaker, while working on a movie of your very own! Glass Blowing
CityArts is the only place in town to experience liquid glass, glory holes and blowpipes. Learn the basics of this unique art and produce forms in hot glass. Demonstrations will be given and instructions for more complex forms. Beginners must attend first class orientation. Age 16+

Make your own unique jewelry with Beads & Wire! Students will learn basic wire working techniques, including: beaded wire chain, fancy wire wrapped beads, handmade clasps, ear wires and wire bracelets. Age 16+

ART CLUB PROGRAMMING
(Only during the school year)

Art Club I (Grades K-5)
4:00-5:30 Monday
This after school program is for elementary age students to come for creative time together. CityArts staff/artists share their enthusiasm and expertise with kids. There is a fee of $2 per student.

Art Club II (Grades 6-8)
3:30-5:00 p.m. Tuesday
Art Club II will only be available to middle school groups of 10 or more.
Reservations required along with $2 fee per student. Please call to sign up your class now.

GROUP FIELDTRIPS TO CITYARTS

  • Minimum group number of 6 - $6 per participant.
  • 1 ½ hour experience unless otherwise noted.
  • Check out specifics for your group.
  • Reservations by payment must be made at least one week prior to the field trip.

Preschool – Art & Me – Friday

  • Preschool (3,4,5 yrs) groups, with teachers or parents. Come and join us for some creative, art-fun workshops. Each month will reflect a different theme & encompass simple art materials and tools. Kids will explore their imagination, creative skills, communication and enjoy some time in creative play.

High School & College Class Groups – Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Senior Citizen Groups – Monday, Wednesday

  • Observe CityArts glass art instructors demonstrating our glass blowing studio.
  • Do a small hands-on stained glass project.
  • Take walking tour of CityArts (we have an elevator).
  • Enjoy a Gallery talk on: current gallery exhibit.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES

  • Limit 10-15 children – $6 per participant.
  • Parties must be scheduled and paid for 2 weeks in advance.
  • Room & Material fee. Set up time ½ hour before event for decorations, refreshment, etc.
  • 2 adults must be in attendance.
  • Parents are responsible for all clean up.
