Juror: John Boldenow
John Boldenow is well known regionally for his exemplary work in the performing arts. Over the past twenty five years he has worked extensively with many local theatre venues, has been the recipient of nearly a dozen Mary Jane Teall Wards for acting directing, and props design, and was named to the Teall Hall of Fame in 2005. In 2008 John was also the recognized with the Individual Artist of the Year Award from the Wichita Arts Council. He has had the great, good fortune of working across the country with national touring companies, most recently with the national tour of 1776 out of New York City. Other Big Apple Credits include Our Young Black Men are Dying and Nobody Seems to Care, The American Dream with Tony Award winners Len Cariou and James Naughton, and What About Black Womyn. He is perhaps best known for his extended (twenty year) run of Scrooge in A Christmas Carol, which he has performed over 1500 times. Film credits include the Emmy Award winning Mary White, and Twister, and more recently, an independent film, Raven Black. John has been Director of the Irene Baker Theatre at the Wichita Center for the Arts since 2001, and has a small art and antiques gallery at the Diver’s Studio on Commerce Street in Wichita.
