Featured Artists: Mike Fallier

Mike Fallier, a native Kansan, has painted all his life. His father James R.. Fallier was is a nationally recognized artist and has been a huge influence on Mike’s career. As a water colorist, Mike’s style evolved and developed. His subjects were mainly traditional landscapes, wildlife, Native American and southwest scenes. During his travels and adventures Mike learned in workshops and through simple observation. A short stint as an award-winning billboard painter helped Mike develop his skill as a sign painter and muralist. Currently Mike paints in acrylic with a more understated, contemporary style. This more experimental approach involves some collage and metal-leaf, sand, salt, etc. His subject matter includes figure studies, urban street scenes, landscapes and some music themes. |

Blank Page might best be described as a meeting of the minds, with the expressed purpose of providing an open forum for all media, performance included. It is a dream given a home; a fantasy being realized through the acts, ideas, and time of a motivated network of creative individuals; a gallery with the soul of a community center, providing a youth-friendly open forum for all static and dynamic arts that encourages experimentation and learning. Here the opportunity is given to get one's work up on the walls, get feed back, and come back again to see the possibilities of self-expression through the work of others. Blank Page is on a mission to create an open dialogue between artists who are established, those who are outsiders, and those who aren't sure where they stand. Currently Blank Page has in residence painters, writers, photographers, drawers, mixed media artists, musicians, and comedians.
Featured Artist: Janelle Johnson

Janelle Johnson is a Rose Hill, Kansas native that works in colored pencil and specializes in scenes of nature featuring birds and florals. Janelle is a Certified Decorative Artist and Certified Teacher of Decorative Art through the international organization of the Society of Decorative Painters. She teaches classes at the Society's headquarters in Wichita, KS and also travels to teach her designs throughout the United States and Canada. You may preview Janelle's artwork through her website www.janellejohnson.com. Her colored pencil artwork will be for sale during Final Friday at Monica's Bundt Cake Co.
