Poetry Fail by Sue Edgerton
Final Friday, March 26, 2010 from 5pm to 11pm
Michelle Monger is hosting a benefit show the same night so there may be a $5.00 cover charge after 7pm.
See what happens when a would be poet sits down to write and spends 10 years doodling instead.
Artist bio:
Sue is a Kansas native and self-taught artist. She lives with her partner of 9 years and has put her career in catering and event planning on hold in order to stay home with their young daughter.
Artist statement:
I began doodling during a lifelong episode of writer’s block. Gradually the doodles moved out of the margins, consumed enormous amounts of paper, and evolved into separate images. In showing these works publicly I hope to positively impact that evolution. I offer them for sale in hopes that purging some of the old will breathe new creativity into future works and allow me to grow as an artist. I am offering to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of my art to Haitian relief projects because my parents have lived in Haiti and were in Port-au-Prince during the devastating earthquake in January 2010.

Emerald City Chorus . . . where dreams come true
Emerald City Chorus members can attest to the fact that dreams do come true! In late 2006 we envisioned a vibrant and thoroughly motivated chorus with new goals and visions. Most of all we wanted to have fun! As we come together each week for rehearsal, we experience wonderful camaraderie, the best possible musical education and the exhilarating feeling of singing one of America's original art forms, barbershop harmony. Goosebumps have been known to appear on many occasions!

Mike Zito/Cyril Neville - 2010 BMA nominee for “Song of the Year”
“Zito’s voice is so incredibly soulful that it can be placed into that diminutive group of elite male blue-eyed soul/blues singers like Stevie Winwood, Michael McDonald and Rod Stewart… A fine guitarist and composer as well, it’s a winning combination of a genuine and complete performer.” - Modern Guitars Magazine
