My office was recently informed that applications are now available for project grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. The deadlines are from mid-March through mid-August, 2008, for projects taking place in 2009.
Over the last decade, the NEA has doubled the number of grants it has given and continues a strong effort to broaden its applicant base. Congress recently increased the NEA's budget by 16% with much of the new funding targeted to providing American with access to excellent art in their communities. I hope that organizations in Kansas' 4th District will benefit from this funding. The enclosed page gives some guidance on how to apply and what to look for on the NEW website to help you. Information in the Grants section of the website includes the direct phone numbers of agency staff you can call with questions.
