Mary Drouin (Ceramics)
Mary Drouin has been a ceramics instructor at CityArts since 2004. She has 16 years experience throwing pottery on the wheel. Mary has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in physics.
Brian Duram (Photography)
Brian Duram has taught photography at CityArts since 2000, sharing with knowledge of the field with many students. He took his first photography class at The Center for the Arts when he was 13. At 14, he won his first Scholastic Gold Key in photography and went on to win five more his senior year. He was awarded a full scholarship to Highland Community College in northeast Kansas.
Brian opened his own photography studio in 1996 and continues to produce and exhibit his work in numerous venues in and around northeast Kansas.

Kathy Fathi (Silversmithing, Jewelry Making)
Kathy Fathi is an award-winning silversmith who regularly shows and sells her original jewelry creations. She has a degree in English and a minor in fine art and has taught both youth and adults at Headstart and Wichita Public Schools. Kathy’s work can be found on display in the CityArts gift gallery.
Buz Johnson

Buz Johnson came to Wichita in 1998 from New York City, after retiring from a career in corporate health care management. Experiencing an unfamiliar freedom, he renewed his interest in ceramics which had developed 30 years earlier as a student at Louisiana Tech University.
In 2000, Buz began teaching pottery classes at CityArts and shortly thereafter was named the department coordinator for 3-D mediums. He has exhibited his work both individually in galleries around Wichita and as part of a collaborative pottery effort with local artists Charlotte Martin and April Scott. This merging of potter, painting and fiber art has been well received in gallery exhibits in the area and was recognized at the 2008 Wichita Art Awards. In addition, a collaborative piece was recognized with the Juror's Choice Award at the 2009 Arts Council Juried Art Show at CityArts.
While Buz continues to teach at CityArts he jealously guards his status as a retired persona and produces limited work in his studio, “The Stone Fairy Pottery.”
Adelia Levy (Drawing-Figures and Portraits, Art Exploration-Youth)

After Adelia Levy graduated from Kansas State University in 2010, she came back to her hometown of Wichita to start her career as an art teacher. CityArts gave her the first opportunity to pass on her art knowledge to others. Now, she balances her CityArts instructor duties with a part-time position with Wichita Public Schools. She works at Jefferson and College Hill Elementary schools as an art teacher and a substitute for the district the rest of the week.
As an instructor, Adelia keeps her classes fairly laid back. She lets her students determine the pace and caters to individual students' needs. She has a deep passion for art, and her excitement is infectious. Adelia's goal is to be an inspiration and a guide.

John Lokke (Drawing)
John Lokke has been actively interested in drawing since the age of 3. He specialized in watercolor, especially landscapes, while in college at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He graduated in 2001. John began tutoring fellow students in drawing and watercolor while still in college and has been teaching since 2002.
John began teaching at CityArts in early 2007. John especially enjoys working with beginning students, and he is an enthusiastic and interactive teacher.
Skyler Lovelace (Photography & Computer Tech, Photoshop)

Skyler Lovelace directs the digital media program at Butler Community College, where she oversees four Mac design studios. Her background includes masters degrees in instructional design and fine arts as well as a doctorate in education. She established Pixel Time at CityArts as a learning center for the digital arts. Pixel Time's popular movie making, animation and digital camera classes help families have more fun with the technology they already own. CHARLOTTE MARTIN (Ceramics)
Charlotte Martin attended Arizona State University and received her BFA in painting from Wichita State University. She has been teaching for 11 years and continues to show her work locally, nationally and internationally.

JACKI MCELROY (Youth Classes)

Jaki McElroy has been a youth instructor at CityArts for nearly 10 years. She teaches classes in drawing, painting, and mixed media for youth of all ages. She particularly enjoys leading Summer and Holiday Art Camps as well as outreach and field trips. Jaki is a local working artist, and has shown and sold her work at several galleries over the past decade. As a member of Arts Partners, Jaki conducts workshops and classes in local schools.
Jaki can be found drawing caricatures and face painting at special events for any size crowd around town, and is the proud mother of two daughters and son who keep her busy at home and share her love of making art.

Miriam Overholt began taking classes at CityArts in 2004 and has been teaching pottery here since 2010. Mimi especially likes working with beginning students. In addition to CityArts, she teaches pottery to at-risk youth through Legacy Ministries.
E. Ritter (Mixed Media- Bookbinding, Monotype and Relief Printmaking)
Nancy Squire (Fiber Arts)
Nancy Squire has been weaving and enjoying fiber arts for 42 years. She is currently teaching art at Wichita Public Schools during the day and Fiber Arts classes at CityArts in the evening.
Nancy has taken more than 50 workshops in her discipline from well-known artists in her field. She has a degree in design with an emphasis in textiles, a master’s in painting and maintains alternative certification in teaching art K-12.
BETH VANNATTA (Sculpture)

Beth Vannatta (aka Piglet) dedicates as much of each day as she can to sculpture -- her passion, her love, her life. Her sculpture subjects are humanity; the suffering, the inequity, the need.
She has taught art for 27 years at Hutchinson High School and jewelry design part time for 12 years at Hutchinson Community College.
Beth is always thinking and learning. She regularly attends Wichita State Unviersity as a Senior Audit of the Advanced Sculpture Class. She has a small farm outside of Halstead where she converted alarge chicken house into a studio. Web site:Pigletdidit.com
Barbara Vogt (Silversmithing)
Barbara Vogt is an accomplished silversmithing artist who has been designing and creating original jewelry pieces for over 16 years. Barbara has many years experience in creating enamel pieces and has taught art since 1987.
Connie Volkman (Painting, Mixed Media)
Connie Volkman teaches painting and mixed media classes to people of all ages at CityArts. She a retired art instructor at Wichita South High School, Butler Community College and Wichita State University. Connie Volkman has a Master's in Art Education with an emphasis in design and creative thinking from WSU.
Her creative interests include glass fusion, fiber fusion, weaving with unusual fibers and textiles, recycled art in 3D, Isbian Blu and old jazz.
Roger Ward (Glass)
Roger is a multi-talented artist who earned his degree from Emporia State University. He has been teaching glass blowing at CityArts since 2002. Roger has won awards for his work and continues to enter local and regional juried art shows.
